The Astrapac ONYX is an air operated Heavy Duty overhead impulse sealer designed for continuous use, where there is a need for repeatable high quality seals.
Pneumatic in operation, allows high pressure to be exerted on the area of seal and provides a positive action to both the opening and closing of the sealing jaws.
ONYX with its industrial specification, IP54 classification and manufactured with both sealing jaw faces heated, gives it the ability to seal through folds and gussets (even through light product contamination).
Safety-this model has both a pneumatic and electronic jaw closing safety circuit, should the jaws make contact with an object or operators hands whilst closing, the circuits release the jaws immediately to avoid operator injury or damage to the product.
Sealing jaws close by actuation of a low voltage IP65 rated foot switch.
The ONYX is suitable for sealing bags/sacks made from polythene, co-extruded plastics and plastic laminate films.
As the seal parameters are controlled by the machine, it removes the possibility of operator errors or fatigue.
To cater for various bags sizes / volumes etc, the working height of the sealing head can be manually adjusted via a simple hand clamp located on the vertical column.
An optional Bag Support Tray /Platform is available to allow the bag standing height to be manually raised to enable the working height to be set at a comfortable level
As standard the finish is hard wearing epoxy powder coat – colour white.
A stainless steel IP65 version is also available where required.
